Our Safety & Security Policies
As a not-for-profit community group, Thursday Nite Swing-In is deeply committed to the safety and security of its participants and the facilities we use. The volunteer organizers ask that you adhere to the following policies to help keep everyone safe.
Health Safety Policy
Social dancing is a high-risk activity. Please do not attend if you are feeling sick or have been in contact with someone who has been sick. Swing-In must adhere to any safety requirements of our host facility, St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Policies may be modified if conditions require.
General Health Standards
If you are feeling sick or have been in contact with someone who has been sick, please stay home
Wash your hands upon arrival, and frequently throughout the event. Hand sanitizer will be provided
Masks are optional, but are available if desired
Vaccination
Up-to-date vaccinations for influenza and COVID are recommended, but not required
Food & Beverages
Swing-In will provide free water; you are encouraged to bring your own beverages to ensure healthy hydration
Facility Security & Event Policy
As a renter of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Swing-In is required to follow the facility’s security & event policy.
Exterior Door Security
All exterior doors must remain closed & locked at all times
Swing-In attendees should use the front door only
Using the Access Code
Swing-In participants may use the dedicated Swing-In access code on the security panel at the front door
The code is provided to Swing-In participants at the dances; watch for updates, as the number may occasionally change
Enter the 4-digit number, followed by the “#”
The code is only valid during scheduled Thursday Swing-In events, beginning 15 minutes before the start-time, until the end-time
Without the Access Code: Doorbell
If you do not have the Swing-In code, you are invited to ring the Swing-In Doorbell
The doorbell will signal organizers in the room; someone will come downstairs to let you in – please be patient!
General Guidance
Swing-In participants should restrict their access to the Great Hall, restrooms and hallways; the rest of the facility is off limits
Every effort should be made to keep the hallway carpets and wooden dancefloor clean and dry
No boots or wet shoes are permitted on the carpet or dance floor; no shoe powder or chalk allowed
Please leave coats, umbrellas, and outside shoes in the hallway coat area
Bringing dry shoes specifically for dancing is a great option
Please limit use of perfumes and colognes, as some guests may be allergic
Alcohol is not permitted on the premises
See our code of conduct on the home page.
