Frequently Asked Questions

  • No problem! If we’re offering free lessons monthly before the dance, you’re welcome to join. If not, simply mention to one of the organizers that you’re new and we will be sure to show you the basic steps. It’s a friendly group, so you’ll be dancing before the nite is out!

If you are prone to perspire, consider bringing a change of shirt.

  • Thursday Nite Swing-In has a database of nearly 3,000 dance songs. Some date back to the 1920s and ‘30s, while some are from the past decade. We focus primarily on East Coast Swing, but will also play some songs for West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Balboa, and even Waltz. The DJs always welcome requests … just ask.

The crowd is extremely friendly, and especially welcoming to newcomers. And, anyone uncomfortable walking back to cars at the end of the nite need only mention it to one of the coordinators and we’ll secure you an escort.
